Mystery of the slipping clutch solved.

Was it a defect? Was it a bad flywheel? Was it in fact WD-40??

Turns out that it actually was the WD-40. Once chris took the clutch out the flywheel was just coated w/a fimly greasy substace and the cluch disc was just soaked w/ it, you could feel it when running your fingers over it. How hot does a clutch get that slips at 4,000 RPMS..........

Pretty damn hott. The pressure plate should be fine, just needs to be cleaned up but the disc is trash, I'll be getting a new one next week. Nice to finially know what was plauging my car all last summer. Once its all fixed up I'll finially get to see what that paxton can really do on a pretty much stock motor. The flywheel is fine, looks like it was just put in after being resurfaced, the disc was slipping on the pressure plate, hence the burn maks.

Just being over there at Chris's again today got me thinking about alot of stuff, like this bond that exists between all of us. This love, or even obsession we have just for a pictular car, its really something amazing that we can all be brought together over a common thing. But even within that catagory there are sub catagories. Such as the 5.0 guys, myself, bryan and chris where we share the only bond of being the pushrod guys in the group. And even beyond the bond of just the 4.6 guys is the bond of the Cobra owners, they are the few and the proud, the elite. Even beyond owning a Mustang is the privilage of owning a Cobra, theres just something about it, even though the bond between all Mustang owners is strong, and the bond for all 5.0 guys are strong, I never expected that the bond between cobra owners would be this special...............

Hey Bryan, what did you say I need to do on my boost gauge? It looks like I need to cut the vac hose behind the glove box, and buy a few fittings to attatch it to the "T" that is not hooked up to anything.

Got the MAFxtender on yesterday, nice easy install(even for me). The only problem is that I have to access the PCM again today to hook up my shift light, and I already buttoned the kick panel back up last night. You are right about taking out the seat to work under the dash Bryan. Made things a lot easier for me. They are kind of heavy though........
