That must explain the low #'s b/c Fred put down 372 RWPH on the dyno at CM Preformance, but it wasent a dyno Jet. I guess those dyno jets must have some type of "correction" b/c most people say that they read diffrently then other dynos. The stock Mach 1 comes w/ 305 HP that comes out to about 275 to the wheels so they did gain about almost 100 RWHP. Did it say how much PSI it was pushing compared to the Cobra?

they should develop a standard system of figuring out the power and torque. It would make it so much easier.

Yeah it would. I do want to go down to Mass to New England Dyno sometime this summer b/c chris said there dyno is more accurate then the one at CM. Gives you more plots on the graph then the one at CM does b/c the rollers are bigger. Regardless of how good/bad the one at CM is Im still going to go back there when I do enough mods to make it worth it b/c the baseline for my car has been set on that dyno so I will know exactly what I pick up for HP. If I go to a diffrent one after new mods it may read diffrent then that dyno so I wont know for sure what I really got for a HP gain.

just remember that you will get different results on different days. Changes in humidity, temp and barometric pressure all play into this. Also you the gas you have one day might be better than on another. The dyno can give you a overall look at your horsepower. You might post one number on one day and post even more/less the next day without any changes to the car.

Yeah thats true and there all factors but going to a diffrent dyno is the biggest factor of all. Those changes may swing your overall HP a slightly one way or the other but look at the HP diffrence between that cobra in the Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords put down comapred to what Fred put down.

i know but it is like comparing apple and oranges. you could always hunt around to find the one dyno that gives you big numbers if that is what you want.
It is better to go back to the same one just find the diff. from last year and whatever you do this year. After that I would go somewhere else.

Was sitting here bored at home w/ nothing to do so I got ambious and went down in the garge and took off my rear wing and placed on the Saleen S351 Wing ( single Plane) that I bought the past december just to see how its going to look on the car. DAYUM!!! SWEEET :nice: Cant wait to get some paint on that baby and actually get it installed :D

Did anyone read the article in the April 04 issue 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords??

Anyways they tested a Stock 03 Cobra vs a Blown 03 Mach 1
they said the Mach took down the Cobra
Here are the dyno results ( i am just gonna type the peaks for each)

Vortech Mach 1
325.5 RWTQ @ 5000
360.2 RWHP @ 6250

Stock 03 Cobra
308.9 RWTQ @ 3750
316.9 RWHP @ 6250 Note only 266 RWTQ @ 6250

WTF????? is up with those numbers i would think a Blown Mach would put down better numbers than that. Although they did use a inertial Dynojet so that may have been the reason for the low numbers

I am calling :bs: on that one. Those are BY FAR the lowest dyno #'s I have ever seen on a stock '03 Cobra. Low rwhp #'s for an 03 would be about 350, the average is around 360-365. i'm gonna have to look at that article, because something does not seem right.

So your saying that an 00 Cobra would only lose 30 HP going from the motor to the wheels????????

and from above about the low numbers--- remember these numbers are RW. the mach 1 made 305 BHP from the factory i believe?? and then supercharged its jumping to OVER 360 RWHP. to me thats a nice gain--about 100 HP if u figure it loses 15% to the wheels (which is a low figure).

well I got back from True Value and I did find a way to mount the wing but now I ran into the prob of the wing not fitting the exact same way the stock one did. One side fits fine but the other side of the wing w/ the other to bolts wont quite go in the holes that are in the deck lid, there sooooo close to going in but they just wont make it. So what should I do now?? Just drill a bigger hole in the deck lid so the bolts will fit and they use a ton of gasket sealer ( or some type of sealer) on the inside of the deck lid where the holes are to keep water from leaking into the trunk? I really really dont want water leaking into my trunk if I ever do a battery relocation to the trunk. :bang:

damn that sucks. I wouldn't want to enlarge those holes. chipped paint and possible water leakage could lead to lots of rust.
are the bolts on the other side tight while you are trying to do this side?

oh yeah you inspired me to do something travis. I went out and removed the drivers side header and the upper intake. Not taking out the passenger side yet because its a PIA. I think I have to get the valve cover off and maybe jack up the engine a little.

its possible that thing could have sagged over time since the legs of it were not bolted down. that would cause the legs to spread farther apart. It might take a little persuasion.
last resort widen the deck lid hole a little bit on both side.

Thats not what i said.....

Most Machs dyno right around 280 RWHP and 290 RWTQ, that 305BHP is BS ford underated them alittle. so i don't see how the vortech was really worth what it gained....the article didn't really say how much boost it was running.

AS for the 03 Cobra (not 00) those numbers are waaaay low. like i said the inertial dynojets tend to show low numbers so that could be the factor. I don't know what my 01 Cobra puts down i am betting it will be lower than any M5 Mach 1 not much but alittle.

Yeah I just talked w/ Chris Norris ( not Nowak) hes the body manager at the ford dealership in sanford or is it saco, I cant remember but he said he can get it on and it wont leak. Just going to ream the hole out some and it shoud be fine. anyway heres a few pics of what it will look like once its installed.

Heres another.
