Thats not what i said.....

Most Machs dyno right around 280 RWHP and 290 RWTQ, that 305BHP is BS ford underated them alittle. so i don't see how the vortech was really worth what it gained....the article didn't really say how much boost it was running.

AS for the 03 Cobra (not 00) those numbers are waaaay low. like i said the inertial dynojets tend to show low numbers so that could be the factor. I don't know what my 01 Cobra puts down i am betting it will be lower than any M5 Mach 1 not much but alittle.

I own this page

After reading the article, it said that a "mustang" dyno sometimes shows as much as 40 less hp when compared to a dynojet. That taken into consideration, the hp #'s sound about right. The Cobra dynoed at 319rwhp. Add 40 to that and you have your "average" 360 stock rwhp. As for the Mach 1, that would put it around 400rwhp. Judging by the track times on the Mach, that sounds about right.

So your saying that an 00 Cobra would only lose 30 HP going from the motor to the wheels????????

I think that you asking me, so I will respond. A 2003 Cobra is very underated. They are rated at 390hp, but are actually closer to 425hp. A member of our club dynoed his '03 last summer and had 375hp at the rear wheels. His only mod was a drop in K&N filter.

The only Cobra that was made in 2000 was the limited edition Cobra R, and that is not the car I was talking about.

Hey Dan, I remember reading in one part of the thread that you work on/ fly p-130's? Is that a P&W engine? My brother is a floor mechanic for P&W in middletown and my dad worked for P&W for many years, thus my curiosity. Actually, my dad worked for P&W all his years until he retired in '83-4.

No, I fly P-3's. They have 4 Allison/Rolls Royce T56-14 turbo prop engines on them.

Cool, don't really know very much about planes, considering. Just curious. Anyway my brother says the military has much stricter test requirements then the civilian market so I guess thats good for you guys, not so good for me.

well yeah it is

However after reading the article again they bought the standard V1SQ kit which is 8psi

and yeah Mike i looked at that too i Missed the Mustang dyno part and it does apear to be a average 03 Cobra after all. But they did say it was a press model so it has prolly been thrashed pretty hard
