yeah, I know, but what I'm asking is...

Can THE CABLE BE OVERTIGHTENED?
I could push on the clutch pedal maybe 3 inches and shift, makes for nice fast shifts.

and if yes, would that cause a tranny noise.

In other words, if there's constant tension on the cable, little or no play at the top, how does that effect the pivot ball, fork, and TOB.

Mind you, the clutch grabbed hard but sometimes too hard if that makes sense.

I've been invited to the annual pimps an' hoes summer college kids drunkfest. I'm tempted after watching them prance around in their bikini tops and skirts all summer.

You want some free play at the top. Too tight and it can cause premature throwout bearing and or clutch failure. You want the clutch to engage in the middle to the top. This will help reduce missed shifts during racing..

OK, you set it. I haven't touched it since. I'm trying to wrap my mind around how it works, exactly.

Anyway, got any clutch cables in stock?

Just get off ferryto main street, stop at grocery store, push in the clutch to park it in reverse, and SNAP!! About 3 inches of My clutch cable is on the floor. Do you think an over tightened cable could cause noise? How hard will it be to swap in a new one?

ha ha that sucks. Not hard to change just painful. It would probably be easier if you remove the driver's seat so you can lay on the floor to see what you are doing.
If it was overtightened then the clutch wouldn't have been able to fully engage and you wouldn't have been able to put the clutch to the floor while shifting.

I'd say it was over tightened. You dont' want it to engage and disengage that high up. If it was too tight then I'm sure you were stretching out the cable every time you went to shift. You figure every time you shift you wind up jamming that clutch pedal down and most likely putting too much stress on the cable. Hopefully you didn't damage anything else like the throwout bearing or shift fork.

Again I will say that if I lived closer I have my old clutch cable sitting up in the attic. Not sure if I would fit your car though.

There is definately some good info there. Though they aren't using the A9L, so that many of the stuff they were talking about adjusting, you can't. If you need some modify mid range fuel, there cold be a couple of things to adjust. I think first the loads should be changed for you car. Since I noticed mine were a little low from what I've seen on your car. We'll have to get together and iron these issues out.

Also someone is writing a book on the Tweecer but who knows how long before that comes out. I read that in the Yahoo forums. I'm sure that could help a lot of people.

Wassup guys? I have been way too busy lately. I plan on heading down to NH for FFW though. I might take the Jeep up to Winterport this weekend to see what it runs in the 1/8th.

Mike- Sat the 26th is a test and tune day, also the night of the next UFC. Feel like coming down to the track then or getting together later that day for some Madden 08 and some UFC that night?
