The good old days weren't that good. Just like what you see on tv today isn't real nor was the stuff you saw in the old TV shows from the 50's. Imagine what people will be thinking about us 40-50 years from now when the see some of the crap on MTV and like programing from today.
There is a reason why so many protested back in the 60's. Things were not rosy in the US and people wanted a change for the better. Racism is around but things have gotten better compared to the 'good old days' and the good old values. Its pretty bad that there are still people out there with those 'old fashion values' and they put a chain around a black persons neck and drag them behind their pickup until the guy is dead. Lets not forget it also wasn't long ago they did that to a gay guy. YEAH I really want those values back and to be prevalent in this society. We would be some much better for having that hatred and fear around.

On a different note I was reading Car Craft today and they wrote that the IRS raided the office of the CEO of Torco. Evidently it involves at least 3 breaches of contract. Since this is in a magazine I would assume it happened well over a month ago.

I did not hear about Torco. Wonder what they did?

Steve saleen has been branching out in a lot of other areas the past few years

Article just said breach of contract. It was just a little news blurb.

Just did a search and this is the first thing I came across. Doesn't look good financially. http://blog.mlive.com/kzgazette/2008/08/irs_raids_office_of_decatur_bu.html

In other financial news DHL is pulling out of the US. Great news for me. http://www.businessweek.com/globalbiz/content/nov2008/gb20081110_975682.htm

those torque arms aren't cheap. I have wanted one of those for a few years now. Only big thing holding me back there is having the cross member possibly interfere with my exhaust.

Mike or Trav,
Quick question......
I am looking at finally upgrading from my old school Xbox. It's between the PS3 and the 360. I know you 2 are hardcore into gaming, so what is your opinions on each? I am leaning more towards the PS3 because of the blu ray, and because I would be using it on our 42" Plasma. Wii is out because it is not what I am looking for. I will most likely be playing Madden 90% of the time, with maybe a shoot em' up type of game once and awhile. Pros and Cons please.

Thanks in advance.

~Dan

Either system will look great on your 42" plasma, as they are both capable of running in 1080p HD. Neither system comes with an HDMI cable, but you can pick one up for $6 on Ebay, instead of paying $40+ at Best Buy.

Both systems provide an online gaming/multimedia service, the better of which is Xbox Live. Playstation network is very serviceable, but there is a lot more downloadable content and other things to see and do on Xbox Live. The downside to this is that you do have to pay for Xbox Live, while the Playtstation network is free.

A big plus for the PS3 is the Blue Ray drive. I have bought a few Blue Ray movies for my PS3, and let me tell you, they look fantastic. Here is the other thing to consider though. Xbox Live is teaming up with Netflix to offer streaming HD movies via the Xbox live marketplace. The question here is do you want buy Blue Ray discs($30), rent Blue Ray discs($5), or have unlimited access to streaming HD movies($50 1 year Gold membership+$8.99 a month)?

For you Dan, the games are probably a wash on either system. Most of the titles that you would like to play are available on both systems(Madden, Grand Theft Auto), and are essentially identical on both. For someone that is fairly hardcore like myself, I think the Xbox has the deeper game library overall, and especially has the edge on exclusive and first party titles. If I had to choose one system or the other based on games alone, it would be the 360 hands down.

One thing I will say is that I have had 2 Xbox 360's crash on me. Both times Microsoft has taken good care of me, but it has been an inconvenience. The Xbox has had some very serious issues with console failures, while the PS3 has not. Just something else to keep in mind.

Hope I helped a little bro, good luck, and give my best to the family

The whole package deal is going to be $1,200-$1,500.

The exhaust interference crossed my mind as well especially w/ the panhard bar but if it does I'll run it w/ out the tail pipes and have the exhaust dumped.

Mike recommended the 360 and I recommended the PS3. Hope that helped Dan

Thanks for the advice guys! I ended up getting the PS3. Just got home with it and finished hooking it up. Looks pretty damn cool just going throught the set up menu. It is downloading software right now so I haven't tried playing it. I got the 80 gig unit brand new for $360 at the Navy Exchange. My brother has one and we played the hell out of NCAA 08 football when I was up in Jersey 2 weeks ago for the Giants / Dallas game, thats what got me turned onto the PS3 in the first place. I bought Madden 09', so I can't wait for th download to finish so I can get rockin' on it! I still have yet to play 09 since they didn't make it for Xbox!! Thanks again boys!

Dan let me know your PS3 user name and I'll add you to my list. If you like shooter games you have to get Call of Duty 4. Its been out a year now but its still regarded as the best FPS on the market right now. The online play is incredible.

As long as you have the stock routing for your exhaust pipes then you should be ok. I wouldn't run dumps because they send a butt load of hot exhaust to your gas tank and/or tires.
I have the MM pan hard bar and the way MM sets this stuff up is so it doesn't interfere with stock exhaust routing. Fits fine on my car.

That's good to know. Im not a big fan of dumps anyway and running side exhaust would be a PITA b/c of the sub frame connectors. I talked w/ a tech from MM last week about the whole package deal I wanted to do and what I can expect out of it. The car should hook better then it does w/ the MT ET streets but I think b/c of the fact of the lowering springs and the stock components in the rear end its really holding back what it can do. Everything through stangsuspension.com was about $1,2XXX $60 cheaper then off the MM site and they also offer a 5% discount for SN95.com forum members.

yeah I got my Bilsteins through them and probably the pan hard bar too. It usually is cheaper getting it from someone other than factory direct.

This is what I was doing on the Toyota yesterday. New calipers and rotors. Those are 4 piston calipers and both sides had to be replaced because the lower piston on the inboard side was stuck(rusted) in place. While I was at it I got some slotted rotors. The brakes work much better now.

Wish I had something this big on the stang.
