damn that sucks. Didn'T you mention before that the track had been getting worse and worse under new ownership? Is it usually like that now or was it just an off night.

just seems to keep getting worse...the only time it gets a good prep anymore is at private rentals and big events

Stop bitching about Epping. At least its a 1/4 mile track that you can use and is relatively close. It can't be cheap to own or maintain a place like that. Plus its not like there is tons of money coming in every day of the week 365 days a year.

Im not bitching its just a comparison. Im glad its there and its a 1/4 not an 1/8 track. Belive me Im more grateful that its there then anyone else in this thread since Im the only one that uses it.

You have bitched quite a few times about the track prep there. I doubt they are making money hand over fist so its not like they can spend tons on prep every day.
A friend told me about a deal at Staples. I got a 21" widescreen monitor for $120. Its normally $179 then there is a instant $40 coupon plus free shipping. Then I located another $25 off a $100 purchase. Its time to get rid of this old CRT monitor that isn't coming in very clear anymore. Big smile. Should be here tomorrow.

no one there is ever happy about the track prep its not just me. Over the past two years when I have been going there almost every week or every other week Ive never heard anyone say DAMN ITS HOOKING TONIGHT!!!

Bitching or not its just a common fact that the track prep there is not the best which is something Im currently trying to compensate for.

as I said it costs a lot of money to own and run something like that. On top of that you will never make 100% of the people happy. Someone will always complain and blame it on something or someone else.
Its better than nothing.

not not everyone will be happy and Im sure it does cost a lot to make a place like that run especially with insurance and everything. Id like to see someone w/ to much money to know what to do with turn the brunswick air strip into a 1/4 mile drag strip

You would have to deal with a lot of people who don't want that in their back yard. I know they were already using it for a runway and there was already noise but people will complain that don't want more noise and pollution in their lovely little community.
Been checking some prices online for brakes. I figure its a good time because of the economy and xmas is coming. Year One had a pop up that shows extra discounts when you buy $500 or more. I might be able to take 25% off the price of some Baer Brakes. That is seriously sweet and means a big difference in price.

I just got an e-mail from summit saying they are offering $50 off any order over $200 until Feb 5th. I guess they are mailing out coupons. Where are you checking for brakes and what have you found for prices so far?

That's what sucks about Drag Strips its just like wind power and Nuclear power...NOT IN MY BACK YARD!

Hell they should take the old Dexter shoe factory back where Im from, level it and built a drag strip there. Plenty of room. Huge factory is just sitting empty since all the jobs got out sourced to Porto Rico

A while back I looked thru the Baer catalog and picked the brakes I wanted and wrote down the part numbers. Then I just used the part number as a search word. It popped up a bunch of different sites that had that part number. Just a matter of sifting through the crap to figure out who had the best deal dollar and shipping cost wise. The rear brakes were cheaper at one place and the fronts cheaper at another. Now that Year One has that coupon offer it makes a huge difference in price. Originally they were my first choice for the rear brakes and another website was much better in price for the fronts. Today I searched the same part number and Google showed my post here on Stangnet as a result.
If you have some money put away the next month or two would be a great time to pick up some deals. That is another reason I'm still looking at VRods. Most places can't get rid of the stuff the first auction because the reserve is to high but after Re-listing a couple of times the price drop is big. I've saved a couple of listings and watched the price each time come down until it finally sells at a steal of a price. One 2006 bike with 2k miles finally went for less than $8k when the seller finally went with no reserve price. Hell of a good deal. Great time to do some shopping if you have the cash.

The wing on the other one is nice but its pretty impossible to find now and if I do the asking price is around $500 for it. Its all just a thought for now would be a few more years before I started another project, still have $10,000 to pay off on the Cobra before anything.

Yeah you can get some great deals on all kinds of things now but the down side is not many people have the expendable income they once did.

Bradenton makes money!!! they just have a **** track manager now...there were 250+ cars at the last Test and tune saturday and then another 200+ cars there for runday sunday they very next day. BMP is open to the public twice a week and they have rentals and/or Pro testing almost weekly

my buddies team quit testing there because they were pissed about paying 2-3K to test there and the would prep the track well enough to hold a prostock car

They are doing armdrom live there in a few weeks plus the snowbird nationals so the prep will atleast be good for the nationals

I know it takes money but since they got this new guy in there things have sucked balls...

I don't care what you put on your car. Its your personal choice. The rims just look gross to me and they won't be on my car but you can put them on yours.
