Sorry. Now if he fried his previous computer would he take a chance of frying the replacement as well?

You still having problems after changing the plug wires?

Yeah it was not the wires still the same issue. Chris thinks it might be the injector driver in the ECU, may have been damaged when my car powered down due to a loose neg battery cable and then the shock to the system when the car regained power again once it got power(all happened while running on more then one occasion). If its not that Im trying a new distributor

I had a catastrophic melt down in the stang yesterday. The ignition box melted. I was on my way home after work and stopped for gas. When I went to start it it wouldn't start. Just cranked slow which that part isn't unusual when the engine compartment is hot but it always starts. Smelled some burning plastic which at first I figured was maybe the cables going to the starter because of the heavy load and resistance in the wires due to the heat. So I pushed the car away from the pump and tried to pop the clutch to get it going. Nothing.:( Opened the hood and saw smoke then saw dripping melted resin coming out of the MSD box. I'm thankful I got AAA last year. They were there in about 15 minutes and the guy was nice enough to drop the car directly into the garage :nice:. That AAA came in handy for my wife also a couple of weeks ago when her fuel pump crapped out on her. Got our moneys worth out that membership this year.
Also very glad I had a battery cutoff switch so I could cut the juice to the MSD box. It was still sucking juice and feeding power back into other parts of the car even though the key was in the off position. I could tell because the water pump was still running and the PMS controller was lit up and operational. I hope nothing else was damaged. Will know more hopefully this weekend when I disconnect the MSD and hook the original ignition system back up.
It sucks that it happened but I'm thankful for the other things...AAA and cutoff switch that both saved me.

Wow that sucks bryan, hopefully its just the box and nothing else. Between you and me thats 2 MSD box's that have gone in the past month. Im looking at getting another box at some point but I dont think Im going to go w/ MSD this time around.

I bought this one a few years ago used on Ebay. It was a good product but something went wrong. Still haven't checked the car. Just been busy working on the house trying to address some rotten wood. Called it quits about an hour ago because I was tired and wet. I will work on that area during the week a little bit each night after work. Then at some point I will mess with the car. I hooked up the battery charger today so at least that is going.
Oh yeah great news one of the boys moved out last week right after graduation. Now he is someone else's problem. He just lost his license for 60 days and thankfully is now off our car insurance. He got charged for following to closely and going 69 in a 55. He was tailgating a State Trooper in a unmarked Mustang:rlaugh:.

My new motorcycle helmet is on its way. Should be here in a couple of days.

yeah that was just another in a long list of stupid moves. If you look closely I'm sure you would see the blue lights in the rear window or at least the little box that they are mounted in. You know the stuff that just doesn't belong there on a normal car.
The trooper just pulled over and let him by then got in behind him so he could flip on the strobe lights. I still find it funny. He thought the trooper was a jerk and I'm sure a few other choice words. Yeah I'm sure it was all the trooper's fault you did what you did and got caught.
He didn't have his license for a full year so with 2 violations he lost the license for 60 days and I'm sure some points on his license. He is going to have fun trying to afford his own insurance now.
