The only money I have spent so far is new spark plug wires. I returned the TFI module and other parts were either tested or a different part was tried such as w/ the coil b/c chris had a stock one laying around.

The guy selling me his has a +8 trader rating and is a mod on the site.

I would still go the cheap route then if it corrects the problem I would save up for a MSD , Accel or other performance distributor. This is the same site I used to find my SN 95 spindles at a yard in RI.

I dont want an MSD, MSD's are f'ing crap compared to the Ford OEM distributors. Im saving money buy NOT buying an MSD and just spending $120 on the Ford unit.

I'll be in over $300 buying one of those junk yard ones + an MSD when I can just spend $120 and be done w/ it.

Just throwing this out as a possibility Travis. Have you been following the story in MM&FF called Stock Block Stroke Swap? They were having problems after a few dyno pulls with the engine just laying down at higher RPMs. Come to find out it was the cam shaft walking back and forth in the block. That movement is enough to change the tooth engagement on the distributor and caused big problems with the timing. Just thinking that might be something to look into on your car.

Oh yeah got a couple of coupon codes this week. 5% off at Mustangs Unlimited and 15-25% at Year One in case you guys are interested. The bastards at Year One don't take the discount off the MSD box I want. I'm hoping Summit and some other places run some specials this weekend so I can get the ignition box cheaper. Some of these places run specials on holiday weekends to drum up sales on an otherwise slow weekend.

Someone else brought that up to bryan. I had bought a new camshaft thrust plate which is supposed to prevent that. The cam has been in the car since last june if a cam was going to walk wouldn't it do it sooner then that?

I hope summit runs their $50 off on any purchase of $200 this winter like they did last winter.

I imagine the thrust plate could wear a little or as we know things do go bad. Did Chris check the timing at various engine speeds?
That $50 off at Summit was a sweet deal. Glad they gave me a gift certificate when I asked about it.
When are you getting the distributor?

It was shipped out today, should be here on monday. If that does not fix anything I'll have to consider the camshaft walking.

just got off the phone with Mustangs Unlimited and their coupon code for 5% off doesn't go toward MSD products either. F!ck!! Plus some of the MSD products are back ordered but should come in on Monday.

yeah its depressing kind of like this weather. Driven my car a bunch of times to work but haven't had the bike out in over 2 weeks due to the weather. WHen the weather has been nice I have crap to do outside around the house.
