Ferris isn't here! He's home with a terrible disease and he might die.

Got a call today that my tractor is finally ready for delivery. Went to the dealer a few weeks ago and made a deal for a Kubota with a snow blower on the front, front end loader, mowing deck and a cab. I need something to clean up the snow this winter and use doing other stuff all year long. Could have used it last week to get rid of at least 6 inches of snow.
Well work sucks as usual. Too much work and not enough time off to really rest. Been pretty busy this week and we still have 3 more weeks to go till Christmas. I was surprised to get out in less than 10 hours today.

That is a great setup.

got the tractor and had some fun with it over the weekend. Moved some big rocks and dirt around.
Started a little demolition in the barn so I can get the stang in there. Tore down a wall that separated some stalls. Want to take down the other walls at some point to open it up.
This new forum setup is weird!

whats up you slackers. Lifes been busy lately. Started going back to school recently for Computer IT courses. Working for the state has run its course I'm ready to get out. No progress on the Mustang, looks as though I might have to replace some stuff in the rear end, went to replace the pinion seal and there was no preload on the rear end at all so I'm wondering if I should rebuild the whole thing while I'm in there. Have the Accufab 1 3/4 long tube headers just need to get them coated and finish off the exhaust and some spark plug wires and power steering pump and I'll be good to go for next year. The STI is still stock, had chris tint it awhile ago, looks good.

Some guy sent me an email last week thinking that I was the previous owner of his Torch Red 10th Ann. Cobra. He sent me the VIN, and he does indeed have my old toy, He changed out the IRS for a solid axle, and put a set of bigs and littles on it.

I prob will this spring Fred, I'll have the long tubes to put on and does not seem like an easy job with one person. Most of everything Ive done now I was able to do on my own but I think that's beyond a one person job. I have to get them sent out this winter and coated and get the gaskets and then I'll be able to put them on.

the only thing I have done lately for my car is tear down a couple of walls in the barn so I can put the car in there. I do know that I will have to replace the steering rack because its leaking and noisy.
Been very busy at work with all the xmas shopping and shipping. Can't wait till its over.
Tomorrow I think it will be time to take the loader off the tractor and hook up the snow blower. Its getting real cold out there.

I'm going to have to rebuild the rear end, pretty good chance the bearings are shot. I was hoping I would not have to but it comes down to being better safe then sorry so thats going to be the next thing I do. Hope the week after christmas is fairly warm b/c I dont have any class's that week and that will give me time to tear the rest of the rear end apart. started out with just replacing the pinion seal but the problems appear to be deeper then that

the only thing I cant do is get the pinion bearing on/off. need a press for that. If I take the differential out with the shims and everything and put it all back in the same way I shouldnt have any problems?
you should be fine if you put everything back the way it came out. I've done the same thing and as long as the shims on right go back on the right and the left goes back on the left you will be ok. Don't screw up which side they came from. That would also have to take into account that the pinion depth doesn't change.

you to larry thanks for checking in

Thats thing though, Im not sure if the rear end is currently set up correctly anyway. I'm thinking of maybe just taking the rear end out of the car and dropping it off and having someone else that knows what they are doing rebuild the rear end and make sure everything is in spec

did you get rid of that virus yet mike?
