I've been at college and it's been a week since I've driven my car. I turn the key, cranks, starts, hesitates, then the rpms slowly drop then the car just stalls quietly. If I give it gas as it's dropping, there is really delayed throttle response then eventually it will start reving. Is it becuase I haven't been driving it enough or is there something wrong with the car. This isn't the first time it's done this without not being driven for along period of time.

Car is a 2001 GT.

02 sensors will not cause a problem like this. The pcm does not look at 02 values durring start up.. In fact if it's a cold start the 02 can't even get a reading yet.

Most likely it's the IAC

If it just does it after it has sit for a while don't worry about it. The fuel pressure has bled off and take a few seconds to build back up. Next time, just turn the key on without starting it, wait a few seconds, then start it and see how it does.

Just want to add to this a little.

Turn the key 3-5 times not just once, each time the fuel pump runs for a few seconds once might not be enough.
