Charged my AC and now when i press my clutch in to slow down for a stoplight or stop sign with the A/C the engine stalls completely... if i blip the throttle just as it gets down to about 1000 RPM it will stay running but if i just let it fall it stalls out

Any ideas why?

thanks in advance

See the "Surging Idle Checklist for help with all your idle/stall problems. Everything you need to find and fix idle problems is in there.

The first two posts contain all the updates to the fixes. At last count there were 24 possible causes and fixes for surging idle/stall problems. I continue to update it as more people post fixes or ask questions.

it could be a compressor failure that is too much drag, check the belt and make sure its ok and not spinning over the pulley.

mine idles around 700... it does fine when the ac is not on... accounts for vss input and everything so im thinking my compressor might be going bad... however when i crank it up in the morning it does have a surging idle but only when its cold

thats whats making me think its something else other than the compressor... or in addition to....

any thoughts?

I was told the actual computer controls the idle for AC increase in rpm. So I have to think a bad/loose connection somewhere is keeping the idle from increasing when AC is on if it runs okay otherwise?
