Stang hesitates/buckles with a/c on

It seems to do it only when A/C is on, and has idle surge that at times it will even shut off. Once I get rolling it will still have idle issues but not that bad. Weird only with A/C on what do you think it could be? Thanks for any help!

Oh its on the 99' GT. Automatic.

Hard to say. Sounds like the AC is drawing more power. If the refrigerant gets low it could cause some issues. Might just have it check to make sure it is full.

I agree. My old V-6 did the same thing and the refrigerant was low. It also blew alot colder which was also nice.

Mine does this too (it is a stick shift 2000 GT). Also does it on defrost which uses the AC to dry the defrost air. Some posters have told me to replace the idle air control but I suspect it is actually a vacuum leak allowing unmetered air into the intake. I have not found anybody yet who has actally had this problem and fixed it. Car idles fine otherwise so I just ignore the AC and put the convertible top down.

Actually I replaced all the COPS with some Jegs brand and it fix the prob. That was my last resort.
