i have an 02 gt, and when i start up my car for the first time in the mornings, something is wrong. i live in southern cali, so the nights arent very cold, and most times im in the garage. anyways, i start my car and let it idle for about 2-3 minutes, then i dirve down my street, the car acts a little funny, and when i get into 2nd, im pressing the gas like i would be normally driving, but it seems there is no power and feels kinda like it is bogging down as if im in 5th. then i stop to pick up my friend, flip around, and drive again. through first its ok, and second still sucks, but when i get to about 1700 rpm everything is normal, and 3rd is perfect. it never does it again durring the day. i have a tri-ax shifter, o/r x-pipe, predator tuner, steeda pullys, and flows. 40k miles on the car, no history of any problems. sorry for the long post, but i am concerned about my car. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Replace IAC, clean MAF, replace PCV, clean PCV pipe, reset computer.

Use SeaFoam all three ways at next oil change.

If it still does it could be DPFE or EGR...

wanna do me a favor since i am kinda new at working with modern cars and change the letters into words? i dont kno what PCV or IAC is, or where they are. i kno the MAF though. i just did an oil change about 150 miles ago, can i still use the seafoam? thanks

PCV VALVE. ... Definition: The Positive Crankcase Ventilation - Murrays, autozone etc.

IAC, ....idle air control - probably dealer only

EGR, ....Definition: The EGR valve is the main emissions control component in the exhaust gas recirculation system

DPFE, ... Differential Pressure Feedback

Read this and it explains most of it : http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/egrmonitor.htm

I have the same problem on cold startups. The car has a delay when you accelerate.

Really? My pony runs like a beast when it's first started. Make sure you have TC turned off all the time, except for when you need it. You'd think they would have programmed it like 4WD--turn it on when you expect to slip, but I guess not.

My startup routine is crank over, jiggle shifter (if not taking off), turn off TC, release brake...

Yep, my startup routine is the exact same except you can add to mine seatbelt, locking doors and turning fog lights on! Traction control gets turned off as my hand comes off of the keys when I start the car.
