a quick run through would be.... its a 1990 notchback... the car started off as a 4 banger, automatic.. i found it in the local junkyard, and bought it for $500. i started tearing it down, and figured i would improve its looks a bit... engine bay was a mess....
(after 1st pull...)

(the second time cleaning up engine bay.. i filled in the fenders the summer before, but painted black then... now i finally matched the color...)
bare metal....

started the filler work... (and a lil tribute to a great girl, and my motivation)

painted.. (no airbrush/clear yet)

a little airbrush... (msd/coil is actually wired at this point..) all wires were hidden..

while the engine bay is being worked on.. i fixed the nose after a 4 wheeler accident... grr.... (just got the grill) so here is my new cobra insert...

i also pulled the rear end for gears... por-15'd the whole bottom, and installed torque box reinforcements...

started tearing apart the interior...

interior was blue/had to move door handles for something a lil different... so...

the reason for moving the handles...

what do do about the guages?

ok... the autometer speedo is like $400... then you have to buy a speed sensor... my solution? a $120 gps... not only does it tell my speed... but i also know where im going if i chose that option...

rollcage installed/painted..

seats installed/dash finally fitted... (p.i.a.)

as of this evening... 6/1/08

ok... back a lil in time to when i first finished up painting the shortblock, and stuff...

head...

as it looks now... compared to my father's car... (36,000 miles 87' vert..)

a quick pic of the 1st time it was done... (engine mostly stock)

i am on a deadline for stangweek, so it will not be supercharged, like i had hoped then... but will be turbocharged this winter, if everything goes as planned... and my white car should be getting a mod motor... (quad cam 4.6) all aluminum...
lemme know what ya guys tink!! lol..

Very nice man, congrats on the pretty decent pace you have been moving. Looks awesome, the newer interior is nice and does the standard trany line up with newer center console.

console is pushed all the way forward but it lines right up now... (you have to remove a good amount from dash/move door handles...)

Tricky it sounds, maybe someone could make a walk through on how to update dash in a fox.

has anyone thought of putting an 05+ dash into a fox? ive kinda thought about redoing an old cougar and putting it in. old cougars are the sex. and they are alot easyer to come by than old mustangs.

That is amazing man. How hard was it to do the dash swap? Did you have to make any bracketry?

all of it... the steering column bolts to the dash in the sn... and dosent in the fox... i had to cut around 8 inches from the back... (no heater vent) dosent matter anyway... no heat/ac.. the mounts i welded in the car, and connected the dash to it... nothing was the same.

The dash is slick. Love the digital GPS/speedo idea. Very different.
