Start up new motor OIL???

Yeah thanks guys I'm gonna go ahead and use some regular old Shell 5w30 for my Start-up and go from there since Im gonna change the oil a few times within very short time frame so Im not gonna spend any extra money.

Ditto. The only practical reason not to use synthetic for the first few hundred miles is due to the cost. In most situations you will experience small shavings from various engine parts unless you run them all through a de-burring apparatus. If you have completely rebuilt an engine with new parts then I would recommend an oil change within 75 to 150 miles and then refill with whichever flavor you prefer (synthetic included). If you have money to burn, feel free to fill it up with synthetic from the get-go.

My engine has seen nothing but synthetic.

Like he said the only reason you dont use synthics off the get go is ur goig to dump $30 in oil back out in 500 miles, it would be a waste....

I have seen many debates about this....And If synthetics have been proved to be that slick, that protecting, and that superior over regular oil to say that the rings will not seat, give me a break, If that was the case, Everyone in the world would use synthetic, If synthetic never allowed the engine to break in properly Cu's it wouldn't allow wear, then NO ONES ENGINE WOULD EVER WARE OUT!!!
