The car seems to be trying to idle, but can't quite succeed.
10* base timing with spout out.
we adjusted the stop screw a bit to get it to keep idling. It keeps stuttering though. I don't know if it's a cold start cycle or what, but it seems to be going up and down in the RPM's. My only thought is that the exhaust is choking it because i've go the turbo headers and they point up towards the MAF at the moment. This is a temporary setup until i have the turbo on and the other intake, but do you think that maybe it's just not getting the air it needs? I know after it's running for a couple seconds I pretty much had to get out of the garage, even though i have a fan pointing right at it.
Any other thoughts?

Is the IAC (idle air control valve) plugged in?? Do you have the O2 sensors installed and not close to the exhaust opening (my car won't idle when I try running open longtube headers because the o2's are only a couple inches from the end of the pipe).

uhhhhh, errrr, hmmmmm....
It's not exactly stock, like i said, turbo, and i don't have that part of the exhaust fabbed up yet, so it doesn't have o2's in at all yet. I thought the motor was supposed to learn it's own idle though, without the ratios. Also, the IAC, i don't know which one that is. Is that the thing with the little plunger that i put in half way? I do'nt have smog either.

It'll take a couple of hours for your computer to learn anything about the idle, so it won't get any better for now. Also, if you don't have things hooked up, it'll go into limp mode. What exactly are the mods you have (turbo, at least..)? If you are moving more air than stock at idle (bigger heads, MAF, TB, intake), it may be out of the range the computer can adjust for, and a tune will be the only way around it.
More details would be helpful

Without O2 sensors, your computer is freaking out. That is what basically runs the car after the first 2 minutes from cold startup.....

So yeah, you can't just yank parts out willy nilly and expect everything to be hunky dory.

Weld some bungs on the exhaust for the o2's and you should be on the right track.

no E-cam, it's for sale, the stock one for a turbo. my intentions were different initially. The turbo isn't on there right now, i'm trying to break in the pistons etc. before i hook all that up. No exhaust after the turbo either, so nowhere to weld the bungs to yet. That's the next step.
