starter hook-up?

my 86 starter has 1 wire hookup but the mini starter i got from a ranger has 2 wire hookup with the solinoid on the starter . can someone explain how to hook this up? where does the little wire go?

alright the the big one coming from the stater goes with the positive cable coming from the battery and the small wire goes on the other side by itself.

Don't mix them up or you will fry your starter, trust me I know

Take the wire going to your old starter, and move the upper part to the opposite side of the solenoid, and connect it to the spade terminal on the mini starter (small side terminal). Now, run a wire from where the old starter wire was on the solenoid (the dead side - should be the only wire there after you moved the other one), and run it to the big top post on the mini starter.
