I just installed a new starter in my 97 Cobra today. However, I am having trouble connecting the amp plug. On the original starter I removed, there was a piece that looks like one prong of an AC Plug. The new starter has a terminal post instead of this. How or where am I supposed to connect the plug? Did they give me the wrong starter?

Is it from Auto Zone, etc.? If so its got a diffrent connector that should have come with the starter

No, it's a Ford remanufactured unit I got at a local dealership.

You either should've removed the prong from the old starter...or there should be a wire ready for splicing attatched to that post.

Here is what the original looked like. Basically, the new one has a smaller terminal post in place of that prong. I didn't notice until after putting the new one in.
