I just went out to move my car and the starter sounded like it was turning but the car would not start. I turned the key off and the starter was still turning over. As soon I released the clutch it stopped. I can push in the clutch with the key off and the starter turns over. I had to disconect the battery because the solenoid started smoking.

Any ideas?


Fixed it!!! That starter sure is a PITA To remove.

Starter solenoid on the fenderwell maybe? thats what my problem was. I could get it to stop if i hit it with a wrench.

I just put a new solenoid on last week with ne cables....all OEM parts.

Could be a faulty part.. Can't leave that out of the picture.

i had that problem before...you probably need to replace your starter
