Starter Questions have searched but please help !

wow just when i get the problem figured out and solved my car tells me that it hates me!!

I started my car five times in a row after i wiggled the clutch safety switch and it worked fine. On the fourth time I started it I thought I heard the starter make a grinding noise. On the next time I tried to start the car the starter madae a god awful squealing noise so I went to shut the car off and the starter kept on going and squealing. The only way I could get it to stop was to pull the neg battery cable. When I touch the neg battery cable to the neg post the starter tries to enguage over and over till I pull the cable off. Is this why they called the Duralast starters Durajunk LOL I changed the solenoid again and I still got the same problem. I went so far as to unhook the clutch safety switch all together. Guys please help!! If anyone wants to talk directly to me over the phone I would be happy to talk.

The starter relya (or solenoid) on the fender well has welded the contacts together. A sharp smack with a hammer to the bottom of the solenoid may unstick it. The usual cause of this problem is low battery voltage or some dirty connections in the 4 gauge power feed or ground wiring.

What ever is simplest is the first thing to try. Make sure the battery is fully charged and all the connections are clean and tight before spending money on a replacement solenoid. If you don't, it may happen all over again.
