Hey guys...Car's stuck at home so I can't go out and look right now since I'm not there...Was wondering, Is our Starter Solenoid Seprate from our starter like on some of the older fords? Replaced the ignition switch last night and still doesn't turn over, so the solenoid's where I'm looking next...the dealer said they can't get a solenoid anymore...So is it one unit with the starter or is it seprate?

Since the starter solenoid is seperate... say I ran a wire from the clutch safety switch so that it went hot when you triggered the switch. Then I ran a push button and had that run to the starter solenoid.

So if I depress the clutch, put the ignition in the on position, then pressed the button, could I have a push button ignition system? Cause that would be HOT. Install that in the flip lid ashtray compartment, it would be absolutely killer.

sorry to hijack the thread, inspiration struck!
