Resolved Yellow Wire from Start Solenoid

Hey guys, so *I believe* I back fed amps through my battery tender to my starter solenoid and burnt the fusible link for the ignition switch. The issue I have is there is a "rubber grommet" that the wire comes out of and the wire is burnt up to that grommet. How do I remake the connection safely and clean? Is it a big fusible link or is it just an insulator? I appreciate any help on this!

Hi Smoky5oh - Were you using a Battery Tender® battery charger? All of our chargers have built-in back feed protection, so they wouldn’t have sent power back through your system. If the fusible link burned up, there might be another issue at play.

Cool of you to some in and clear that piece up.

Since you are new to us and representing a vendor, I want to point you to our TOS so we all understand each other. :)

Welcome Aboard! :SN:

No I was using one of those big jump starting systems that you roll around the shop. Both times I was using the jump feature when it burnt, not sure if it was heat related or not.
