I have a 89 gt...last night I went to crank the car and the starter would not disengage. Luckly I had a new OEM solenoid in my tool box. So..I put it on and the car cranked fine. Today I pulled the car out in the drive way to put some new hoses on it. After I finished... I crank it and the starter was stuck again. I ran up to local Advance and pick up a new solenoid. I drilled new scew holes for the solenoid mounting for a better ground. Got it cranked and pulled in the garage.
A few minutes later I tried to crank it and the starter did not disengage.
The starter is the old style starter and was replced with a Motorcraft Rebuild 2 years ago.
What are the chances of 2 bad solenoid back to back....or do you thing my starter has craped out?
Battery cable are Oem and replaced them last year. Battery is also a year old.
