starting prob

OK left my lights on all night and went to start the car in the morning no go battery dead, go figure.
I go to jump it and it won't turn over. I can hear a clicking when i turn the key but the engine won't even try and the power windows and locks work.
and for some reason my hazard lights go on i checked the fuses they are fine.

Could it be the security system? and i have not had any problems with it starting before.

Plz help or so help me GOD I WILL BY A CIVIC

If you are pretty sure the electrical system is up for the load of starting, look at the starter interlock circuit, specifically the clutch safety switch or neutral safety switch (stick or auto, respectively).

where is the neutral safety switch and what would i be looking for?

The neutral safety switch is down by the trans as far as I know (I know clutch safety switches a lot better than neutral safety switches. ).

As a quick aside, if you happen across your starter kill relay in the alarm wiring, see if the relay is allowing output juice while cranking (this would be 12 volts while cranking at terminal 87A for most starter kill relays). I didnt say anything before since that relay might be really buried.
Most installers wire starter kill circuits passively. If the alarm dies or loses power, the car will start. Said another way, it requires input from the alarm to energize the relay to make the car not start. Not all alarms are wired this way, but many are.

Simply stated, the little S-terminal wire you are trying to check for voltage needs to get 12 volts to the solenoid, which is mounted on the starter itself, in order for the starter to energize. The neutral safety switch in in the middle of this wire (as is a starter kill relay). If the car isnt in Park or Neutral, the switch wont let juice through. Or if the alarm is opening the circuit, that will cause a no start situation.
