Hey guys. My '99 has been stored since November. It will start, but barely. Once it starts, it will idle normally and then stumble and cough and then go back to idling fine. After it stumbles, the check engine light comes on. After it goes back to idling, cough intermittently and then it will eventually die. Then it will not start again. If it sits for the night it will generally start up the next day, only to do the same thing.

I pulled a P190 code from the computer. The code states "FRP Sensor Signal Low". What does this mean? The check engine light comes on only after it starts to stumble and cough while idling.

I changed the fuel filter and it didn't change the behavior.

I also ran the self diagnostic in the odometer and the fuel pressure is stated around 240, so I assume the pump is okay.

I put Stabil in the gas before I stored it, so it shouldn't be the gas - but I'm thinking it is.

What is your guys' take?

Thanks in advance for the help!

JC

P0190 Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
P0193 Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit High Input

I have recently thrown these 2 codes... Everytime I get on the gas the car bogs down.. or jolts a bit.. It seems like the fuel pressure is stuck on or something...

I changed the fuel filter and still the same thing... any ideas?

maybe the diaphram in the FRPS went bad. If you have a friend with a similar car, try putting his on real quick to see if it fixes it. Generally if the FRPS goes bad, the oil will smell like gas.
