I know this isnt a 5.0 but as you all know there is nooooo traffic in the 2.3 section and I know you all are a great bunch when someone needs help so here it goes. Just bought a 89 Lx 2.3 5-speed as some of you may have seen my thread on it. The previous owner disconnected a few things. He had plans to swap the engine and drag the car. There is no Evap hooked up. There is no more a/c or heating. Just the blower motor. Also it look sas if there was a pipe that came off the header shield and routed to the air intake box. Thats not there anymore either. When the car is cold and I go to start it it just cranks. I have to try atleast 3 times b4 it will finally fire up and then it dies again. After a few more tries it starts and revs to 2000 rpm till its warm. then once its warm it idles fine and starts up fine. I just replaced the fuel filter and air cleaner and changed the oil. Any advice....My next guess is going to be to replace the sparks plugs, wires, cap and rotor. What do you guys think. Thanks in advance.
