My daughters had their state AWANA grand Prix today in Sebring, FL. It encompasses S. Miami all the way to Orlando.

My older daughter got second, and my younger got FIRST, along the way setting the track speed record twice. The second place car beat third by only 2/1000 of a second, with a 4-race average of 2.437. The First place car had a 4-race average of 2.426.

4 skinnies = 1st
front skinnies, rear fatties = 2nd
4 fatties = 3rd&4th

Pretty cool RC
Both my daughters are in AWANAs too
They don't get to do gravity car races though
Maybe I could suggest it locally

How many years in a row is this now they placed fairly high?

Do you have a trophy room yet...damn those are HUGE trophies...watch your back moving them around .

THis is our FOURTH YEAR attending.

First year..One car in speed category...NO award.

Second year...One in speed one in design...Got a Second in Design.

LAst year...One in each...Got a FIRST in DESIGN.

This year. Two cars in Speed...Got FIRST AND SECOND!.

This was FIRST YEAR with a speed trophy. I finally got the technique down. Third and 4th were also siblings, so that dad also knew WTH he was doing.

Next year only one daughter will be racing.


The "GO" trophies are a bit nicer than the "SHOW" Trophies.

Oh...BTW...I did enter a car of my own in the Design category (AWANA Leaders can enter one here) It was a FL old State Trooper Car..with a CB antenna, door handles, tail lights, wipers, auto clear coat, and FLASHING TOP AND HEADLIGHTS!!

Here is a vid clip...the quality does NOT do the car justice.

I lost to a "FISH"

Almost "swept" the awards!!

i won the district cub scout derby for three years straight when I was in cub scouts. Of course, my dad did most of the work on the cars, but you know, my name was on the trophies.
