Stater Relay PICTURE NEEDED!

The reason all of this is so fresh is because I just hide my wires and had to reconnect my solenoid. I got some tips from ALMOST STOCK and I am almost certain that he has the same wires running from his starter and his in an 1989. No biggy though, as long as they get thier problems worked out.

EDIT: ALMOST STOCK may have a mini torque starter, this may be why. Good information to know the difference though.

That photo is a bit whacked.Did he relocate his starter relay? I can't tell where exactly the relay is sitting.Looks like it's way down below the strut tower.And what is a tire doing in his engine compartment?

Also...Jade,the relay looks exactly the same as the one on the pre -91 models.If I had a camera i'd take a pic and show mine.It sits in the same location and still has the plastic cover that goes over the relay and ignition coil.And Stang22,i'd agree about your friend having a newer starter in his 89.It's a better upgrade than a stock replacement.But you would probably have to change over the flywheel cover and maybe other things to support the new starter.

Right, when you hide the wires, you hide the solenoid in the wheel well.

Oh I see,that pic is taken from outside the front fender with splash shield removed.Makes it look good but not good if you have to get the wires or relay later on.

so let me see if i get this straight about the wiring, the wire coming up from the starter goes to the terminal by itself, all other wires including the positive battery cable goes on on the other terminal.....am i right?

That's exactly how my 89 is wired, so I'd say you right.

I'm just curious as to how many times you’ve have you had to get to your solenoid (starter relay) let’s just use as an example in the last four or five years or so? Let alone worry about the wiring of the relay or any other electrical parts. Like I said I’m curious, and I’m not trying to start some sort of pi$$ing war.
I've owned my 89 since May of 89 and I've never changed the relay, or starter or any other electrical component since I've owned the car. Wait that's a lie, I have changed the battery twice.

Tim you're absouletly right! The pic you have posted is exactly how FORD ran the wires to the stock (and in my case original starter relay/ solenoid).
Sorry but I do not have a mini torque starter.

Here are some pics of stock 14 year old starter relay or Solenoid which ever you perfer to call it.
