I bought a one owner hatch and its pristine in and out with 70k miles.I can't leave well enough alone and I'm putting together a stock appearing combo for maybe low 13's but looks stock at a car show.I've gathered a TMOSS lower/ported upper/65mm FRPP t-body and spacer/prof ported E7's,stock valves, crane beehives and retainers/2030 crane/comp pushrods/FRPP 1.6 RR/pulleys and a 3.55 gearset.I'm thinking of cutting the heads .025 and wanted to know if guys have done this without intake issues.Gonna install a new radiator/waterpump and do some nice detailing also. The pulleys and ARP headbolts will be the only visual give aways. What do ya think?

I should be able to dyno next week before the install pending weather.I'm also going with a new radiator/waterpump/180* thermo and some nice detailing.

The car is bone stock with the exception of an X-pipe/silencer delete and 14* timing which really woke the car up from stock.

lemme know how it goes.....I have a similar plan up my sleeves

I have an original owner 87 vert with about 55k miles
Coast 306, Tmoss upper and lower, BBK 65mm TB, Thumper E7s, Jay Allen Cam. Jay ground the cam to work with SD but I think I might just covert to MA while everything is apart. (anyone want to chime in???)

Anyways, I have done a lot of detailing. Bolts cleaned/powdercoated, some of the factory nasty brackets were chromed. New fan housing, battery tray, battery cables, etc. I even had my original water pump rebuilt because the date code is right there staring me in the face. I might even put my 87 date coded plug wires back in because they are in such good shape.

Really interested to see how yours comes together, keep us posted.

each case can be different due to toher potential factors (head/block milling), but up to .030" should not cause any significant mis-alignment.

With good traction and driver it should be tap dancing all over the 12.99 mark. Put a small nos set up on it and run 11s. I would of went with more gear tho.

I was thinking 3.73 but I think a 3.55 will be better on the street as far as noise and mileage but still go thru in 3rd at the track. It has to be a massive jump from 2.73.Thumper showed me how to measure the head deck and stated he cuts .040 all the time with no issues.I chose .025 to get me near 9.5 comp. plus MAYBE put me into pushrod length and no intake issue territory.I know the 2030 is on a .050 smaller base circle which should be .025 at the lifter less then stock but this is a good guess,I'll have to measure of course because of tolerance stack up.
