Is gettin your engine steam cleaned a waist of money? The guy where i took to get an oil change says that it would be good to get my engine steam cleaned

It is good especially if your going to show the car. I also reccomend it in case you have some sort of leak, its ALOT easier to find a leak on a clean engine than on an engine that looks like it has 100,000 miles of dirt and oil on it!

It looks good, but on a high milage care with stock cork gaskets you can turn a little project into a nightmare. I did a high pressure was on one of my cars back in high school. It lookes awesome when I was done, but my valve covers and intake were leaking oil all over the place over the next week. If you don't do it yourself make sure you have a good shop do it. I have the aluminum valve cover gaskets now an have yet to have a problem with power washing the motor about once a year.
