Ok I picked up a set of Steeda pulleys from a guy here on Stangnet, I forgot what his alias is. He sent them right out to me NIB with instructions and they were the late 01-up set like he said, I was a little nervous at first due to the instructions reading 1996-2000 model. I bought them for $140 shipped.

Put the car in 5th gear so the crank didnt turn(1st gear crank turns). Put a jackstand under the drivers side, set the e-brake.

First let me say that you DO need a garage to loosen the alt bolt with an impact gun for you. The alt pulley is 13/16" shallow well. Dont try to stick a screwdriver into the alt fins to stop the pulley from turning...or you will bend the prong like I did, luckily I was able to bend it back down. The tensioner didnt have enough umph to stop the pulley from turning either I also tried a screwdriver on the p/s pump pulley. Bottom line you need someone to impact the nut loose then just snug it up so you can make it home.

Ok so after that nut is loose next is the 4 water pump bolts they are 10mm. Remove the alt & water pump pulleys.

Remove the harmonic balancer bolt from the top using a 18mm shallow and you may need to use a wrench on top of the ratchet for leverage standing on the pax side pulling toward you. I used a 1/2 drive ratchet.

next take your 3 Bolt puller and the longest center bolt and remove the balancer.

put a goop of gasket maker in the keyway of the new balancer to prevent oil from leaking out and slide the balancer onto the crank, use the supplied longer bolt and the old washer to pull the balancer on but dont tighten this bolt just go until you feel it start to snug then remove the bolt and put in the original bolt and torque to 36ft lbs, then back off 1 full turn and tighten to 60ft lbs then a 90 degree turn...yeah...I cranked it down to "I really dont ever want this to come off ever tight."

Install new water pump snug each bolt down easy in a criss cross pattern then tighten as much as you can without the belt on. install the alt pulley install the belt useing a 3/8 drive ratchet or breaker bar in the tension slot...there is a spot to insert a 3/8 drive ratchet into the tensioner. Once the belt is on tighten the bolts again on the water pump and alt pulley.

Start the car and check to make sure the belt looks good. Drive the car to the shop and have them zap the alt pulley nut tight with the impact gun.

Your done!!

This was a fun easy project. Took about 1hr.

The engine revs quicker and the car accelerates faster without a doubt. The old rusty steel crank pulley is nasty looking compared to Steeds product. The stock unit is much much bigger to. I should have taken a picture of the two...
