Steeda Pulleys

The shorter bolt is a replacement for the stock crank bolt and you can use it if you want. I personally went to ford and got another OEM bolt, but I don't think it really matters.

As far as the RTV, make sure to put a good glob in the keyway and yes I would let it setup for an hour at least. I think overnight is best, but you could get lucky and drive it right away with no problems. I actually did that...the second time I installed the crank pulley...since the first time I did not put enough RTV and a little oil leaked out of the keyway.

If you have a manual, put it in 5th gear so the crankshaft will not move when taking the crank pulley off.

Also...when using the pulley puller, there is a big washer behind the crank pulley bolt...so don't take the bolt out and use the puller against the washer because the washeer is in front of the pulley and it will not move. You can just keep the crank bolt in there and use the puller against it...but loosen it some so there is a gap allowing the pulley to move and come off. You could use the longer steeda bolt for this also...of course don't screw it in all the way...just enough to push against it.
