When I bought my car it had already been modified a bit. The previous guy had put a mac fenderwell cold air intake, full mac exhaust, steeda tri-ax, subframes, steeda springs, and a steeda timing adjuster. I also found that he had been running NOS.
My question is about the timing adjuster, I know its benificial when running boost or nos, but what are the benefites for a car with no boost or nos? I've got it set at 14deg. running 93 octane gas. It feels a little spunkier, but that could be my imagination. I just need some one to finally explain it to me.
this is one of those concepts that I haven't quite figured out yet. Thanks for the info.

You probably have pulleys also... the t/a isn't only for nitrous and such, and will give a N/A gain also

thats great, but how does it work? I noticedd it was a bit more lively, but I still don't know if I've got it set right, or not, am I going to do damage if I set it a certain way? Thats what concerns me.

dont quote me on this as i am new to the mustang and performance but when i bought mine i did do a little research....for n/a applications you want to advance your timing which is the way you have it now(at 14 degs) normal timing i beleive is 10 degs. and for blown apps you would retard the timing,i think i read somewhere that it is a alternative to getting a chipp burnt. it said in the instructions for the t/a that advancing the adjuster to much would make the engine knock(like in older engines when you would turn the distributer to much. i alos beleive that the instructions advised not to go over 13-14 degs. just 2 cents from a performance retard

from one retard to another, thanks, when I got my car it was already on, and I can't find any info that would tell me what I needed to know, steeda's web site is just trying to sell it, not tell you how to use it. thanks.

The Steeda timing adjuster uses a magnet in order to adjust the timing. you will notice on the end of the arm is a small magnet and when the dial on it is turned timing is varied from top dead center to be advanced or retarded. This is what i have been told. cause i didn't get it either. on 93 octane don't go any higher then 14 degrees. steeda suggests not going over 13 but that is also being conservative and if your modding your car all we care about is power. Right???

A guy saw his friend with a 96-98 Cobra (cant remember which year exactly) pick up 6rwhp and 9rwtq with the steeda t/a (advancing 3 degrees to 13 degrees)
