For those who have installed a Steeda Tower Strut. I have and 03 GT and when you put the strut into place it's about a 1/4 inch short of contacted the rear area. Wondering if upon installation it will pull that 1/4 inch in when tightened?
I just installed one on my '03 and had to deal with the same "gap" you are talking about. Between the give in the mounting tabs on the bar and the give in the firewall I managed to get rid of the gap. Be VERY careful with the stainless bolts that come with the bar, I snapped four of them while tightening everything up. I ended up replacing ALL of them with regular hardened metric bolts (not stainless) from the hardware store.
Also, the two bolts that mount the bar to the firewall are a complete PITA to tighten up because of the gap you are trying to get rid of (the metal isn't THAT flexible) and having room enough for only wrenches.
