I got my used tri ax in today and when I installed it the ball part that goes into the shifter mechanism will slip out of it with the shifter all the way bolted down but the stock shifter does not do this. I made sure it went into the mechanism and it will stay in there for a minute then it will just pop out and you can move the shifter all around with out it going to any gear. Anyone have any ideas or did I just get the shaft?

I am sure others here can help you more but if you can get up some pics it may be easier to help you out.

do you still have the plastic bushing part in the trans so that the ball stays tight in the trans?

The guy at steeda says he thinks that its for a 3650. I cant find anyone that I know with that transmission though to try it.

I dont know the differences in the shifter models myself. Doesnt a 3650 come in the last batch of GT's (01 or 02+)? If so, maybe ask in that sub-forum for the guys to measure their shifter shaft length (or whatever it is that might be different) so you can compare yours to theirs.

:OT: Guero, I opened the door for you with all this talk of shafts and comparing lengths. Let's have it.

Not sure on this, someone chime in here, the bottom part of the stocker and the tri-ax should be that same shouldnt it, the short throw comes from the shorter shifter handle and a different mechicanical advantage. I would think in order for it to work the bottoms would have to be the same. Agian someone come in on this. Compare your shifters and see what it looks like??
