Anyone have the Steeda Tri Ax shifter for the 05-06 GT?
How do you like it? Does it shift alot better than stock?
Do you like the feel of it? Thanks

best shifter out there, IMO. i would never use anything else

I had it...Liked it but ended up getting rid of it...Why you ask?....Well, because since work for B&M I put our shifter in.

Do you hear a lot of gear noise with either the Steeda or the B&M???

i hear gear noise with triax. but who cares its a mustang and u hear noises when its stock too. adds to the cars character

Oh yea, I miss the "Character" my 88 has. With 340,000 miles (All Mine) and C Springs, Koni's, Tri/Ax, No Cat's/Borlas/X-Pipe, HCI, it's full of character. It really grows on ya. My 06 is kinda boring. Can't wait till the cash flow allows some "Bolt On" character!

So, Don't worry about the noise, it's not much. At first you may notice it a lot, but it grows on you to the point you'll miss it if it's gone.

Thanks guys I was just wondering how you guys mite like it.
I heard that the Steeda Tri Ax is a wonderful shifter for the 05-06 GT.

I am wondering about the Steeda Tri-ax shifter as well. I am wondering SubZero05, which one has the shorter throw and honestly which one did you like better?

Well to be totally unbiased here: Our B&M shifter has a shorter throw, but IMO the steeda was a bit smoother "Gate to Gate" as ours is a bit more "notchy" of a feel. The steeda one did rattle quite a bit though I thought. Guess it really depends on your likeness

My Steeda shifter is ok, but it shifts with a hell of a cluncky noise and when you pull up on it, there´s a lot of up-down play.

The Tri-Ax was my first mod. Have had it for 1 1/2 years and am well pleased with it. They may have changed the install instructions by now but I picked up thru a web-site that you needed to lube the washers when installing. IMO noise is the same as stock

Anyone else have the up/down movement in the Steeda Tri-Ax? What is the install like? I am debating on a short throw and haven't really decided on which one yet.

That's what I thought! The Steeda Tri Ax isn't any louder than stock.

A shifter install is pretty easy. You need a 10mm wrench, a 13mm wrench and about a half hour maybe 45 minutes after the car is jacked up.

Does it come with instructions?

If not I'm SOL!! Of course the shifter is down the road for me so I'm not gonna worry about it.

The Steeda Tri Ax shifter comes with instructions and the install is really easy.I hear it only takes about a hour to install.Most places sell the Steeda
Tri Ax shifter and you shouldn't have a problem purchasing one.

Go for it! The job is simple. Just remember not to overtighten the nuts that connect the linkage rod to the tranny and shifter. The 2 nuts should be tightened lightly with a little loc-tite, not much, just half a drop to keep them from coming loose. If you overtighten them, you will break the studs that are part of the linkage rod.

Is it just me or is the MGW not the best? lol Call me stupid if they do not make it for the 05-06 yet but it's all the rage on the 99-04 boards. Smooth, Little to NO shift noise...sweet =)
