I have the chance to buy a Steeda triax for $100. Its got about 15k on it. is there such a thing as too many miles on a shifter?

Go for it - used shifters are great bargains. They rarely take abuse (they prevent it!)

Get it. I cant imagine a shifter being THAT much better than the tri ax, mine feels fantastic I love it.

IMO if you can get a good deal on a used tri-ax of MGW, do it. especially with only 15k on it - what wear coudl it POSSIBLY have?

I also have a Steeda Tri Ax shifter and I love it to say the least.
Any aftermarket shifter is better than the stock one and that should
be your first mod.

werd. shifters dont wear. though like stated above, try to opt out for a MGW. I have the TriAx in my GT and the MGW in my cobra and i dig the mgw better, its adjustable arm lets me put the knob in a comfortable position. feels smoother, but that could very well just be the tranny itself, alot of trannies shift smoother than a 3650.

but you know, anythings better than stock.

There isn't...people just seem to be very passionate about shifter brands - go figure.

I have had both the MGW and the Triax and liked the MGW better. Its a bit quieter but what I liked the most was that the handle has 360* of adjustment to get it in just the right spot.

Go for it, that's a pretty good deal and I don't see how it could be worn out.

I'm pretty happy with my Tri-ax...I'm sure it'd be smoother if the 3650 wasn't so notchy.
