I am in the final stages of making my 65 coupe a complete V-8 including a Granada brake swap. It used to be a I-6, I have collected all the parts necessary to swap over all the steering linkage to beefier V-8 style. this includes the pitman arm, idler arm & bracket, center link and inner and outer tie rods. My only real question is on the placement of the new Pitman arm? Is there a specific placement for it on the steering gear? Does it need to be centered? Maybe I'm just over thinking this? Any insight is welcome. I will be taking it in for a front wheel alignment after everything is complete. Thanks.

The splines on the pitman arm and steeing box will only allow the pitman arm to be mounted in one position. At one point there is a spline that is two or three times wider than the rest.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping it was going to be as straight forward as this. I just didn't want to get the old one off and find out the new one had to go back on the same way.
