Steering wheel and key ignition, HELP!

Hi, I have a 97' 4.6 Mustang Gt and I just replaced the heater core, PAIN IN THE BUTT! Anyway, I get everything back together, not knowing a ton about all of this I left my keys in the ignition and thought it would be okay. I put the steering column back and in and get ready to start the car, it starts up fine, but when I turn off the car the key does not come out of the ignition, and the wheel does not lock at all. I can shift from Park to Drive to anything and not have to press the brake pedal in. Anyone know what is going on? Let me know a.s.a.p. please!!

Wow. Sounds like you have got some adjustments to make to the steering column and ignition switch rod. I wish I could give you the details, but I'm not able to right now. Did you use a manual for this job or just wrench it on your own? Good luck.

Did you pull the entire dash out to replace the heater core? Pls supply a little more detail of how you did your HC R&R
