i agree with Mr. Rugby. i will add that if when just sitting in the car (off), if the wheel/column has play, you can pull the column cover and tighten up the bolts in there. i believe there are two sets of two bolts to tighten. i only did the ones near the multi function switch and it helped a lot with up and down play. you take them out, lock tight them, and reinstall them. there is a write up on the whole thing in one of the stang sites, but i cant remember which....if no one posts it, and you are interested, i will find the site.
good luck.

thanks, i was reading that site and the column was out of the car. Im guessing I could do this while its still in the car right? Id just lower it right? Ive never done this before thats all. Thanks guys

yeah, i did it with everything in the car. it has been a while and im foggy on it. i think i just removed the upper and lower column covers (plastic) and undid the two screws for the turn signal switch. then i could do the actual lock tighting....i should take about 10 minutes or so (that is my recollection). i did not move any column stuff (lower it, etc). i think he was doing other work or did that for illustrative purposes (or he was doing something else more involved. i dont see why one would need to drop the column to get behind the M.F. switch).

good luck.
