Steering Wheel Nut

That sounds about right (it's close to 1", but not quite - on my 67 at least). Don't quote me on that though. I recently replaced my steering wheel, but I just used and adjustable wrench.

yeah i figured out that the horn thing twists off so i was just able to get at the bolt with a cresent wrench...easy.

is it possible to remove a steering wheel without a steering wheel puller?

Usually you need one, but not always.

The first time I tried to remove the wheel on my 1st mustang, my dad kept telling me there was absolutely no way I was going to get it off w/o a puller. I tried anyway and after a couple tugs, it came right off. :D

On my 2nd mustang, I tried w/o a puller, but it wasn't budging so I had to use one.

You can try getting it off w/o a puller, but chances are you'll need one.

yeah i was pulling on it with all my might and it didnt work so i got my old little league baseball bat and wrapped it in a beach towel and sorta struck it a few times and it popped right off!

not like im gonna be using this wheel but just figured it would be nice to not scratch anything....
