I was driving down the highway yesterday and all of a sudden my car just takes off to the left and I about ran off the road into a gaurdrail. I jerked the wheel to the right and got back on track, but now my steering wheel is tilted to the right when driving straight. If I let go of the wheel, the car still drives straight, but the steering wheel is no longer straight. I didn't hit a bump or anything to throw my alignment off, so I am really confused??
I jacked up the front end and checked my lower ball joints and tie rod ends, but everything is tight. I even locked the steering wheel and jiggled each wheel back and forth, and did not feel any play.
Is it possible that my steering wheel jumped a tooth or something?
