Steering Wheel Replacement

Went to replace wheel on my 2000 Mustang when I opened the access holes to remove the airbag, it wasn't a 5/16" or a 8mm like it says on the forums. It looks like a security bolt it's round and has teeth on the inside. Does anyone know what these are and where do you get the tool to remove them ?

That exactly what it is a security bolt so that people that break into your car they cannot steal that 1k piece i n5 seconds.

Go to the auto store and tell them what you need.

They will have it.

tamper resistant torks bit...

Yes- it's a Torx bit. Just get a set of them at the hardware store and you'll get the size you need. They're handy to have around for other things too.

They are not standard torx. They have a point in teh middle, tamper resistant torx is what they are called.
