Hey guys tried searching for this with no luck so here it goes

I have a 1993 lx and when my car is just sitting and idleing the steering wheel will shake-really bad its about 1 to 1.5 inches both ways.

My car has always done it but,it seems to be getting worse. Are there some sort of bushings that could tame this. I tried to look for something on the car that looks outta place but couldn't find anything.

Thanks for all the help Drew

Is the wheel tight? Is the header hitting the steering shaft?

No, nothing is hitting the steering shaft

By is the wheel tight do you mean, does it turn correctly? If so ya the car turns great and drives great. When i'm driving the shake doesn't completely go away but it does tame it down a lot.

Well, i mean is there slop in the steering. In other words is there a little dead play in the travel before you get response?

How badly does the car shake at idle? Do the front wheels shake side to side with the steering wheel?

Check the two brackets that hold the column up to the dash assembly, two bolts each. Easy to get to, you may have to remove the lower dash cover under the column. Common issue.

The car doesn't hardly shake at all, a lil bit form the engine just the steering wheel goes crazy. Also the wheels don't shake at all. The shake is up and down too.

As for the steering there is a little slop in the wheel not much though. I would have to check when I get off of work for sure.

rd- I will check the 4 bolts when i get off work today

Thanks for helping guys

The engine does shake a little but i would think that it shakes the "normal" amount.

Also I did tighten the 4 bolts and it did tone it down a bit. It is now more tolerable but, it does still shake.
