on my 2004 gt the steering wheel shimmies about 50mph and i get a vibration through the cabin. car is stock with 1000 miles on it. could it be tire balance or should i try alum. driveshaft?
I would have the tires checked for balance as well as the alignment checked before you do anything else. With the car being so new you wouldn't expect to have this problem but, it happens.
Defitely get the tires/wheels rebalanced and have the alignment checked/fixed. Are you the only driver? if not maybe somebody crunched a curb or pothole.

i am the only driver. i'll go this monday to the dealer. thanks for easing my mind. i know people who have tried everything and still have these problems. and not just mustangs.
