At about 60-65 MPH my 89 Mustangs steering wheel starts to vibrate. I had the front tires balanced and the car still vibrates. is there something wrong or are these cars just rattle traps.

Rim could be bent, tire could be separating.

it could also be your car needs and alignment or the control arm bushing... also you might want to check your wheel bearings..is it pulling a certain way ?

Parts dont shake tires do.at most u feel a wobble.loose or frozen parts cause a shimmy .the way to tell the difference will cost you lol .a true shimmy your tires will bounce like a basketball and can only be stopped by stopping car

Yes i hear what u are saying.a perfect balanced tire that still viberates says u have a defective tire.we use a on the vech type that will balance tire to 120mph. Off vech is a normal speed 60to 80.like the op tires can seperate inside u cant always c it .
