I have a power steering whine, replaced with a new ford pump. same . along with a vibration in the steering wheel. whine gets louder as I accelerate. One shop says it is the rack.
Is that a possibility. TIA
Whine from old ford power steering, especially in mustangs is pretty common. You could be chasing that for a while. Shops are just throwing stuff out there so you will pay them to change it.
