Steeroids question

For those with a Steeroids rack, when the car is on a lift with weight off wheels, does the centerlink move when the wheels are moved up through their travel?

The reason I ask is because my design is very similar to Steeroids, and there is noticeable movement as the rack rotates in the housing, causing the centerlink to move up when I push up on a wheel.

It doesn't seem to cause any adverse driving condition such as bump steer as everything seems to be moving together. Still, I don't think it should have that much play. From the pictures on the Steeroids website they appear to use an unmodified J-car rack which is what I'm using also.

The rack housing is bolted in solid, but the actual rack (steel bar with holes and gear teeth) within the housing is able to rotate, and since the centerlink bolts to the rack (in my case using a separate adapter) the entire centerlink moves up as the rack rotates towards the rear of the car. The only way you can observe this is if the weight of the car is not on the wheels.

I took it to a shop to have it inspected prior to going to Carolina Motorsports Park for a driving event. They required that the car be put up on a lift to inspect the suspension, drivetrain and brakes. The shop owner noted that ithe centerlink had a lot of movement when he pushed up on the wheels, but gave me the OK to get on the track.
