Sticky injectors

Hello everyone in 5.0 land. I picked up a 89 notchback to use as a daily driver and one of my injectors makes a pretty loud ticking noise. It goes away when I unplug it. I have the stock injectors from my bullitt and I was wondering if they would work? They are the same orange color on top and the connector looks similar. Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes they are the same injectors.

All injectors tick by the way when they fire. It's normal unless you are saying this one is unusually loud

Thanks. Yeah it sounds almost like a rod knock, makes a nice buzzing noise too.

it might be possible it could be a exhaust leak on that cylinder? when you unplug it, it would make no explosion so you wouldnt hear the exhaust leaking out...if it was the case, just a thought

I never heard a injector anything like a rod knock, especially overcoming the sound of the sound of exhaust, fan, and everything else coming from an engine...just my 2 cents

Well if he swaps the injector out and it still does it....then most likely it's exhaust leak.

5.0's are notorious for leaks at the header to head gaskets
