Anyone else have this issue? Just when you push the pedal to give it gas it doesnt want to go unless you put a bit of pressure on it. The only thing that comes to mind is maby the butterfly in the throttle body is sticking to the actual metal itself. Am i wrong? or just stupid?

Might have a little buildup in the throttle body causing the butterfly to catch, if you haven't touched the set screw.

i had the same problem. i couldn't leave a stop without spraying people with rocks because it would stick, then let go and i'd be spinning. i just had to adjust the butterfly on the tb and it was all good. it was closing too far and sticking to the housing. no buildup in there either btw....

Try adjusting your idle using the proper technique. WHen I got my car the throttle was sticking because the previous owner had the throttle screw almost all of the way out. Also, like said above, clean ou the throttle body really well. I had a 96 Explorer at work the other day and the throttle was sticking. Cleaned out the gummed up TB, and all is well....good luck

If that doesnt fix it reroute your throttle cable, it can make a HUGE difference.

Nonglossjason - Did you resolve this issue and if so what did you do? I have two mustangs doing the same thing. One of them got worse when I cleaner the throttle body.

be careful, I had the same issue. I checked the throttle body and found that the lower screw holding the throttle plate to the shaft was loose. This caused the throttle plate to grind the throttle bore and I found tiny metal shavings. I tightened it once and it was good for a while. The second time it happend I found that the throttle shaft, right at the lower screw, snapped. This of course was while I was 1200 miles from home.

Mine binds up at the linkage below the throttle body, especially after I wash under the hood. I hit it with some WD40 and it smooths out again. If the throttle does not appear to be sticking itself, try the linkage below it.

This is happening on my 2001 GT... any ideas? Should I try adjusting that set screw? Could the cable go bad? I really noticed it when I put my Mach 1 pedals on...
